MAIN STREET VINELAND CHRISTMAS PARADE
INFORMATION & RULES

All participants must comply with these rules and cooperate with parade volunteers. Failure to do so may result in you or your group being excluded or removed from the parade by the Vineland Police Department.

Visit our EVENTS PAGE for dates and times of this year’s parade along with rain date.  The decision to postpone the parade to the rain date will be made by 10:00 a.m. on Saturday the day of the event. All participants must have a Christmas theme. This year’s parade theme can be found on our Events Page

Driving ATVs or 4-wheelers is not permitted in the parade.

No low-rider vehicles will be allowed in the parade.

Only car dealerships that sponsor the parade will be permitted to participate in the parade; they also must be decorated. Each $250.00 sponsorship is allotted 3 vehicles in the parade. In the event a dealership is providing a car to a dignitary or someone else riding in the parade, there is no fee for that car.

Vehicles participating in the parade must have valid license plates, by order of the Vineland Police Department, and drivers MUST stay with their vehicles at all times.

All participants must be registered at least 10 days prior to the event. A number will be e-mailed to the address you list on your application the week prior to the Parade, along with a map of where to report. It MUST be printed out and placed under the wiper blade on the passenger side windshield. If you are unable to print this number please contact our office, we can make one available for you to pick up on the day of the parade. Walking groups must either pin their number to their banner or on the first person in the group.

No distribution of printed material is permitted during the parade.

Under no circumstances can donations be solicited or taken from vehicles in the line of march.

Car and truck clubs must have the name of their club posted at the beginning of their group and are limited to 6 decorated vehicles per club. Each vehicle in the club must have a number in their window. All vehicles must be decorated and will be sent 2 abreast in the line of march.

All windshields are to remain clear (except for the entry number issued by Main Street Vineland) and doors must remain closed while moving in the line of march.

Motorcycle groups are limited to 12 in the line of march and each must display a number on the front of the motorcycle.

All participants, including dignitaries, must be in their staging area by no later than 4:00 p.m. Information on your specific staging area will be provided to you several days before the parade, in the packet with your line-up number.

Please do not dress as Santa, as the only Santa in the parade will be at the end to light the Christmas lights at the conclusion of the parade.

Please do not block driveways and streets.

Throwing candy is strictly prohibited. Any organization disobeying this rule will not be permitted to participate in next year’s parade.

There will be no registration on the night of the parade.

Unregistered groups will not be permitted to participate in the parade! 

Float drivers must stay with their floats at all times and be prepared to move them at any time.

Floats must not arrive earlier than 1:00 p.m.

All floats being judged must be in their staging and prepared to be judged by 3 pm.
IF JUDGES ARRIVE AND YOU ARE NOT READY YOU WILL NOT BE JUDGED NO ACCEPTIONS!

Children riding on, or serving as part of, a judged float display must be on their float by 3 pm.

All other floats must be in their staging area by 4:00 p.m.

Floats must be a minimum of 15 ft. in length and must be able to keep up with the flow of the parade

Small trailers with people on them are not permitted

All floats will be judged on the theme. 

Music must be Christmas-related and played at a reasonable level. All music will be monitored by the parade coordinators and any music deemed by parade officials, in their sole discretion, to be inappropriate in theme, volume or both may result in the float being removed from the parade.

Judges will only come around once for judging. 1St, 2nd & 3rd Place trophies for Grand and Petite divisions will be awarded. Trophies will be awarded to the winning floats when they enter the broadcast area in the 600 block.

Approximately one week prior to the parade all registered participants will be contacted by email and be given their assigned staging area. You will be assigned and provided with a line-up number. You must display your assigned Parade line-up number (or sub-numbers for multiple vehicles) in the passenger side windshield of your vehicle(s) to gain entry to the parade route.

Fire truck drivers must stay with their vehicles at all times and be prepared to move them at any time.

Only two fire trucks per Fire Company are permitted in the parade.

Each truck will be assigned and provided with a number. This number must be displayed on the passenger side windshield of all your trucks to gain entry to the parade route, and this number must remain on the windshield during the parade.

Approximately one week prior to the parade, all registered participants will be contacted and be given information on where to enter the parade area, staging, and specific instructions about check-in.

No horn or siren blowing is permitted during the parade.
